The Right to Remain Idle
“Making a human is hard work, you know? This is why women shouldn’t have to do ANYthing else. And I know that sets feminists back 100 to 200 years, but I don’t care. If you’re pregnant, you shouldn’t have to do ANYthing. It’s the truth.” — My Wife

If not, you shouldn’t have to do ANYthing.
I think that makes a lot of sense!

During pregnancy? I sort of agree. I believe in giving a temporary handicap parking pass to pregnant women during their third trimester for the sole purpose of making things easier for them. And that first year or so with breastfeeding and such I can see her point as well. There are, however, many women who don’t have kids until their 30s if at all. Are they to spend their 20s sitting around doing nothing?

I believe my wife would agree that this only applies to pregnancy and the first year or so as you describe, and not before or after. I know at least she would be pretty darn bored otherwise.

I only pulled the preggo card twice with my hubby. I also worked even harder at work because I was trying to prove I could do it all. I’ve also never been pregnant with twins though! As tired as I was baking one baby, I can only imagine how exhausting it is to bake two.

Yeah, as you can imagine, the pregnant card has been played once or twice in our household. I don’t know how this time around compares with when she was pregnant with the Twins. She’s baking one this time, but she also has two 3-year-olds to deal with, so I’m not sure that’s keeping her any less tired. :)

I just finished being pregnant for the second time and fully agree with this! So much I would like to reblog it on my blog in the next few days. And show my partner. And all other men x

I know I’m late to the draw here, but if you feel so inclined, I’d be thrilled if you shared it. Congratulations on your new addition (and getting through pregnancy). We’re almost there with you.
